On Monday, the 3/4’s spent the day at the botanical gardens. We had heaps of fun and learned heaps! I think it was the best excursion I have been on so far! And here’s why!
The day started with an enjoyable bus ride to the city, the bus ride took about 30 to 45 minutes. After what seemed like such a short trip, we got to the gardens. First thing we did was have a lunch break! Then we had a quick toilet break and started the excursion.
We had a short walk to the gardens and then we were greeted by an indigenous man he taught us about the welcome ceremony. We each put a gum leaf in the fire and walked around the fire.
We then went with our teacher and learned how to make string. We also learned about the Australian grasses that were on our land before the European grasses came.
After that we had another food break, shortly after that we jumped on the bus and went on the bus to Federation Square, I loved being on the bus and seeing all of the city!
We got to federation square and learned about the indigenous history it was very interesting!
We then took our last bus trip and came back to Holy family, what an enjoyable day!
